Idaho liens: three clocks, no prelim notice
Idaho doesn't make you send a preliminary notice. That sounds simpler until you miss one of the three steps that do matter.
Record the claim with the county recorder within 90 days after your last furnishing. Serve a copy on the owner within 5 business days after recording (certified mail or personal delivery through an officer who can serve process). File suit within 6 months of recording.
Each step runs on its own clock. Recording isn't the finish line — people lose the lien by treating the 5-business-day service window as optional. And the 90 days run from last furnishing, not the invoice date. Keep delivery tickets.
The statute table and the usual traps are collected here: Idaho's 90-day recording and 5-day service clocks.
