Checking a lip filler injector before you compare prices
Price is usually the first thing people compare between clinics. It probably should be the last.
The FDA suggests a licensed healthcare provider trained in filler injections, with experience in dermatology or plastic surgery. NHS guidance in the UK adds checks on qualifications and experience and warns against providers whose only filler training is a short course. A job title in a social media bio doesn't cover any of that.
Things to find out before booking:
- Who exactly will inject you, and what's their profession?
- Which product will they use?
- How are complications handled, and who do you contact afterwards?
- Can you have a consultation with the person doing the treatment?
In the UK it's also worth knowing that statutory registers like the GMC and GDC are a different kind of check from voluntary cosmetic registers.
This page on how to choose a lip filler provider covers those checks with the sources linked.
