Why lien deadlines don't line up from state to state
If you sell materials into more than one state, the hard part isn't any single deadline. It's that each state counts from a different event.
A few examples from our own guides. Hawaii gives you 45 days from a court-filed date of completion, and has no preliminary notice. Idaho gives you 90 days from your last furnishing, then 5 business days to serve the owner after recording. Nevada wants a Notice of Right to Lien that only reaches back 31 days, and a recorded notice of completion can cut its 90-day recording window to 40.
Same supplier, same kind of delivery, three different starting points. That's why we keep every state on its own page, with the trigger, the notice step and the statute cites side by side.
They're all in one place: LienDeadline's state-by-state lien guides.
